Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the macroelement composition of mixed saliva in patients with comorbidity using X-ray fluorescence analysis. The aim of the study was to determine the content of macroelements in samples of unstimulated mixed saliva and to perform a comparative analysis of the obtained indicators depending on the type of concomitant disease. The study included 51 patients divided into groups with gastrointestinal pathology, psychotic disorders, cardiovascular diseases, bronchopulmonary pathology, and type 2 diabetes mellitus. It was established that the macroelement composition of saliva differs depending on the nature of the concomitant disease. The highest potassium levels were detected in patients with psychotic disorders, chlorine in type 2 diabetes mellitus, sodium, magnesium and phosphorus in bronchopulmonary pathology, sulfur in gastrointestinal diseases, and calcium in cardiovascular pathology. It was shown that the identified changes may reflect the specific metabolic and functional disturbances associated with various somatic conditions. It was concluded that X-ray fluorescence analysis of mixed saliva has diagnostic potential as a minimally invasive method for assessing biochemical shifts in patients with comorbid pathology.
