ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION AS A FACTOR IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF GENERALIZED PERIODONTITIS

This article presents blood pressure and dental parameters in patients with generalized periodontitis with arterial hypertension and in its absence. Our studies indicate that there is a relationship between increased blood pressure and periodontal tissue diseases. In patients with moderate and severe forms of generalized periodontitis, blood pressure indicators were higher than in patients with mild periodontitis. Periodontal inflammation and increased blood pressure are associated with an increased risk of mortality in hypertensive patients. Over the years, various studies have been conducted to determine the role of periodontitis in the occurrence and development of arterial hypertension. Many researchers have confirmed the link between hypertension and periodontitis. However, more research is needed to elucidate the role of periodontitis in hypertension.
