Abstract
Purpose of the study: to conduct a retrospective analysis of the characteristics of the clinical picture of pneumonia with positive and negative tests for COVID-19 in children with bronchial asthma in children in the Kyrgyz Republic. Materials and methods. The case-control study compared two groups aged 7 to 17 years who were ill from September 2020 to February 2021. The clinical and laboratory characteristics of Covid-19 pneumonia in children with bronchial asthma were studied. Results: The pattern of Covid-19 pneumonia differed from usual pneumonia in children with asthma (p<0.001). A correlation was identified between data in the anamnesis of children with bronchial asthma and Covid-19 diseases in children with existing bronchial asthma (p<0.001). Conclusions: Susceptibility to Covid-19 was observed in children with existing asthma. Children with uncontrolled asthma had an increased risk of hospitalization and more severe asthma.
