PROVISION WITH CHILDREN'S DENTISTS IN SUGHD AND KHATLON REGIONS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the provision of Sughd and Khatlon regions with pediatric dentists. The aim of the study was to assess the availability of pediatric dentists in dental institutions of these regions. The research material was based on the data of reporting form No. 17 approved by Order No. 054 of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated October 11, 2013. Indicators for the period from 2017 to 2021 were analysed. It was established that the total number of doctors serving children in the Khatlon region over five years amounted to 82, whereas in the Sughd region it was 156, with statistically significant differences. It was shown that in 2021 the provision of pediatric dentists in the Sughd region was 0.237 per 10 thousand children, while in the Khatlon region this indicator was more than two times lower and amounted to 0.106 per 10 thousand children. The article emphasises that despite the smaller number of children in the Sughd region, the number of pediatric dentists there is two times higher compared with the Khatlon region, whereas the provision of pediatric dentists in the Khatlon region remains more than ten times lower than the national indicator and two times lower than in the Sughd region.
