Improving the efficiency of surgical treatment of liver echinococcosis

The analysis of the results of surgical treatment in 157 patients with liver echinococcosis who were hospitalized in surgical departments of Bishkek City Hospital No. 1 is presented. All patients with liver echinococcosis were divided into 2 groups depending on the nature of the performed operations: main and comparative (control). In the comparative group (94 patients) capitonage according to Delba and invagination of the fibrous capsule were used to eliminate the residual cavity. The second group included 63 patients who underwent abdominization of the fibrous capsule cavity and percystectomy with continuous “P” shaped sutures. During surgical treatment, the number of postoperative complications in the compared groups showed that postoperative complications in the comparison group were observed more than in the main group (29.8% vs. 15.8%, P˂0.001).  Recurrence of hydatidosis in distant terms after the operation from 6 months to 5 years was revealed in 3 (3,2%) patients in the first group, and in the second group in 1 (1,6%), which managed to reduce the recurrence of the disease in 2 times (P˂0,001). Thus, the use of the technique of liquidation of the residual cavity of the fibrous capsule developed by us allows to improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with hepatic echinococcosis
