Biography
Indira Orozobaevna Kudaibergenova (born 1957) is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Rector of the I. K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. She graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute, completed an internship in surgery, and worked as a surgeon at the Republican Clinical Hospital.
From 1983 to 1988, she undertook residency and postgraduate training at the A. V. Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, where she defended her candidate’s thesis. From 1991 to 1994, she completed doctoral studies in oncology and successfully defended her doctoral dissertation.
Since 1989, she has worked at the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute / I. K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, where she has held the positions of Assistant, Professor, and Head of Department. In 1997, she was elected Director of the Kyrgyz Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology. In 1998, she initiated the establishment of the Association of Oncologists and Radiologists of the Kyrgyz Republic and has headed it to the present day.
She is the author of more than 120 scientific publications, including two monographs, more than forty educational manuals, and a number of methodological works; she holds three patents. Under her scientific supervision, one Doctor of Sciences and eight Candidates of Medical Sciences have been trained.
Since July 2016, she has held the position of Rector of the I. K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. She has been awarded the Order of Kurmanjan Datka, the badge "Excellence in Education of the Kyrgyz Republic," the medals of Academicians N. T. Trapeznikov, M. M. Mirrakhimov and M. M. Mamakeyev, the medal "Kyrgyz Tili," and other departmental honours.
