Abstract
Compression allows to improve the skills of reading, understanding, analyzing scientific texts and writing abstract, research papers, reviews. This article is devoted to teaching medical students compression at the level of words and word combinations. Types and graphical registration of word compression, as well as abbreviations, that students encounter in every medical text, and their pronunciation have been considered.
