PRIMARY RESULTS OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF PROXIMAL FEMOR FRACTURES IN ELDERLY AND SENILE PEOPLE

Abstract

The article presents the primary results of a randomized study of surgical treatment of proximal femur fractures in elderly and senile patients conducted at the traumatology department of the Clinical Hospital of Emergency Medical Services in Bishkek. The study included 119 patients observed from 2019 to the present time. The limitation and morphology of fractures were analysed in accordance with the AO/ASIF classification, which plays an important role in accurate topical diagnosis, the choice of fixation method, and treatment outcomes. It was established that senile patients were encountered twice as often as elderly patients, which the authors associate with the high prevalence of osteoporosis and increased life expectancy. The paper provides a comparative analysis of different surgical treatment methods, including DHS, DCN, plate osteosynthesis, and hemiarthroplasty. It is shown that clinical diagnosis and comprehensive examination of the patient are essential prerequisites for the correct choice of treatment tactics. The authors emphasise that the development of modern medical technologies broadens the possibilities of traumatology and orthopaedics and promotes the introduction of new surgical methods for treating proximal femur fractures in older age groups.
