Abstract
COVID-19 is associated with a high risk of complications, including acute myocardial injury, renal failure, and thromboembolic events. The consequences and manifestations of post-COVID syndrome in children remain heterogeneous, while the pathogenesis of the disease related to microcirculatory disorders continues to be actively studied. The article presents clinical cases of thrombotic complications in children after coronavirus infection observed at the Department of Pediatric Cardiorheumatology of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health. Different variants of thrombotic complications in children with congenital heart defects are described, as well as cases of thrombosis of the veins of the extremities and cerebral vessels. Using specific clinical examples, the authors show that coagulation changes associated with COVID-19 suggest an increased risk of thromboembolic complications, especially in patients belonging to high-risk groups. The article emphasises the need for earlier preventive measures, timely detection of the initial signs of thrombosis, and improvement of clinical approaches to the management of children in the post-COVID period.
